Please note that the Young Vic Directors Program is open to all directors at an early stage of their career. The only criteria for joining is that they consider themselves professional directors, are not in full time education and are resident in the UK. It is important that when using this list detailed references are taken up as presence on this list is not in itself a recommendation.

background: I'm a performance maker, freelance director and curator. My practice, both as a solo artist and theatre director, is informed by my professional and academic background: indeed, I studied History & Politics, graduating with a PhD in Diplomatic History and until 2005 I worked as freelance writer and broadcast reporter in Eastern Europe, Belgium and London.Last logged in 7/9/2010
Since then my experience in performing arts has varied: For two years I produced Sweet & Sour a monthly Experimental Cabaret night that featured diverse artists (from musicians to dance artists to filmmakers to performance poets to live artists); I curated The French Re-evolution Variety show (2006), Live poetry shows including Write Stuff (2005) and Diasporic Sounds (2006); as a performance artist, I've been making work since 2004, either performing my own writing, conceiving Burlesque and Dance theatre solo pieces or collaborating on creative projects with other independent dance and theatre artists including radio drama Exile and Love (Syllabub productions, 2007), Leibniz's socially-engaged ongoing theatrical project The Book of Blood (2007, 2008).
My directing credits include: Au Creux du Desir (Hackney Empire, 2006), In the Shadows of Senghor (The Space 2006, Brady Arts Centre 2007), River (Baron's Court 2007).
My work is interdisciplinary, fusing classic poetry with movement and multimedia. Half-way between Physical and Dance theatre, my productions aim to revisit obscure historical eras to celebrate the present while my solo performances, often intuitive and expressive, explore the nature(s) of the relation between physicality and sexual, cultural or sexual identity.
