background: Recent work has focused on pleasure and memory, beginning with work which utilised scientific research, and moving into mythology and performances of self. The initial research on this work was sponsored by Arts Council England; work is also supported by the University of Winchester where I am a visiting lecturer in devising techniques and performance theories.

Previous work includes directing Cries of London at the Tabard, a series of new writing workshops in Salisbury for Putting It On and assisting on a new play, 3-1-6, at the Haymarket Theatre Basingstoke.

background: I have never really directed anything before.
The two weeks just gone I was lucky enough to work at the Young Vic with the INTRODUCTION TO DIRECTING course, and I loved it. I was able to direct a 3-5 min piece to be performed in one of the studios. It was only a 2 week course, but I really enjoyed it and would love to do more.

I studied performing Arts at college about 2 years ago, and directing was just one small module I had to do, and never really thought much of it until my teacher told me I should do more of it after watching my 20 min directing workshop go down so well.

This is the only "experience" I have had, but I am so keen to do more.

I have so many ideas but never really had the chance to try them out.

I studied for a BA in English at Oxford University and graduated in 2009 from the three-year MFA Theatre Directing program at Columbia University, New York where I was sponsored by a Leventis Fellowship. I have also trained with/at The Watermill Cente, Theatre du Soleil and Teatr Piesn Kozla. In 2006, I received a Japanese Embassy scholarship to study Theatre in Japan.

I have assisted Natalie Abrahami, Andrei Serban, Robert Woodruff and Shen Wei at The Gate, Lincoln Center, La Mama ETC and Carnegie Hall. In 2009, I received a fellowship from the Kennedy Centre, Washington DC and was shortlisted for the Merola Program at San Francisco Opera and the Mabou Mines Resident Artist Program in New York.

She is currently working with the latter on a new opera about Monteverdi's life, Monteverdi's Flying Circus which incorporates music from the composer's operas and madrigals. She is a keen circus practitioner and has set up her own company, Human Behaviour, with a view to making comedy work without the constraints of gravity and their recent show, Slug, premiered at Stratford Circus and SHUNT. She is an Associate Young People's director at the Almeida and as an actress has appeared all over the country, most recently as Hertha in Spring Storm at the National. She has also worked as an interpreter and translator for the Barbican, Gate and Sadlers Wells.

background: Since the age of nine I have been involved in theatre. For ten years I was part of the 'Theater Floo' Company in Berlin working on noumerous shows in Berlin, both site specific and theatre based.
Arriving in London I first studied Theatre Design at Central St Martins and thereafter successfully finished my Master Degree in Directing at Central School of Speech and Drama. I have an equal passion for devising as well as directing classical and physical theatre, being trained in both. Throughout my career I have gained a deep and broad working knowledge of theatre, both on the creative and production side.

background: Annette Mees is an artist and theatre maker. She makes stories that create interactions between people and places. They combine technology, live performance and theatre, always making the audience the hero.

She is part of Coney, an agency for adventure and play and is director of The Performance Lab, an ensemble dedicated to deepening audience engagement in original settings. She is also co-artistic director on Interludes, a cross-disciplinary project developing new ways of telling stories using technology and performance.

background: Antonia has trained both in Fine Art (Goldsmith's College, London) and in Acting (Teatr Pieśń Kozła, Poland).

She has performed in London and internationally with the devising company Mkultra, written and directed two short films (including the short film Paragon screened at Edinburgh International Film Festival), and written a feature-length film.

In 2003 Antonia met and formed a close collaboration with the Greek actress Maria Savvidou, a core member of the National Theatre of Greece. She was invited to observe rehearsals and subsequently did so on many occasions over a period of three years. The quality of the work of this company and the approach of director Stathis Livathinos (who had studied under Lev Dodin), became an unforgettable reference point.

Antonia has been directing productions, teaching workshops and coaching actors privately for three years with techniques significantly informed by this experience as well as by the physical and musical theatre training of Teatr Pieśń Kozła (Song of the Goat Theatre).

background: I run the company Two Gents Productions together with actors Denton Chikura and Tonderai Munyevu. We present two man, Zimbabwean productions of Shakespeare. We are just completing a three month tour of rural touring venues and regional arts centres around England and Wales with our inaugural production, Vakomana Vaviri ve Zimbabwe or Two Gentlemen of Verona by William Shakespeare. In January 2010 we will be in Zimbabwe to develop our upcoming production of the First Quarto of Hamlet.

background: Most recently I have worked with the Old Vic on the project 'Out Of Character' directing two short films, and with the London Playwrights Collective at Theatre 503 as one of their workshop leaders. I worked as AD on a national tour of Neil LaBute's Helter Skelter/Land of the Dead/The Furies, directed by Patricia Benecke, as Associate Director on a touring production of 'The Ostrich and the Dolphin', and as Assistant Director for Bloody Poetry at the White Bear. I am currently devising an immersive theatre experience with my company ONEOHONE (www.oneohone.org) and in July will direct a new version of 'Spring Awakening' at the Camden People's Theatre.

I am a recent graduate of Oxford University. In 2006 I formed my own production company financed a summer tour of The Bacchae, directed by myself, around the UK and California. As part of this tour, I ran workshops for young people in local schools and youth groups ranging in size from five to thirty-five and in age from eight to eighteen. In March 2009 I won the OSPL Award for the Performing Arts.

background: I am currently directing Life by Tenn - two rarely seen short plays by Tennessee Williams, for Spirit Theatre at the King's Head.
I originally trained and worked as an actress, and later went on to complete a 4-Year Directing Course in London, under the tutelage of the late Sam Kogan. I have also trained under Mike Alfreds (Directors Acting) and have attended several directing workshops and masterclasses in Moscow and London.

background: I received my MA in Scenography at Central Saint Martins, where I had the chance to explore the world of directing together with designing the space for theatre and film. I had my BA Degree as set designer at the Fine Art Academy in Rome Italy. I had also received training in performing arts in VITIS “K.Sarafov� in Sofia Bulgaria.
I've also done training with Young Vic in Voice and Stage Fighting workshops
My passion for theatre often combines with my interest in visual art and media.

In 2007 I was selected to take part in Cheek By Jowl Summer School for Directors and Designers, In 2008 I directed short movie "Centurions" which is now in post production.

background: I graduated from Bilkent University (Turkey) with a BA in theatre directing (honours). I then became one of the youngest directors of the National Theatre of Turkey.
